Businesses Learn About Energy and the Economy

Business professionals from Rapid City came together Monday morning to learn about energy and economic development. Partnership to Fuel America is an initiative of the U.S. Chamber Institute for 21st Century Energy.
 
Officials from the U.S. Chamber came to the Black Hills Monday to tout how critical energy is to the growth of our economy. They clarified how crucial Canadian energy is to the U.S. and what businesses in South Dakota can do to contribute.
 
Partnership to Fuel America wants to makes sure that the voices of American consumers and employers are heard in support of a secure energy future in this country. 
 
Officials say that right now, our economy needs more energy. Matthew Koch is the Vice President at the Institute for 21st Century Energy and he says, "Particularly here in South Dakota you're not only benefiting from tremendous resources all around you but that your benefiting from the opportunities in North Dakota and South Dakota whether its the jobs but potentially the benefits in the Western part of the state and were promoting the XL Pipeline and its benefits to South Dakota as well”.
