Matt Koch on KFYR Bismarck

The Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce hosted Matt Koch of the US Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy on Tuesday, March 14th in Bismarck for a luncheon speech to approximately 100 business leaders. The event with part of the National Hot Topic Luncheon series and Matt’s speech was entitled "North American Energy – Realities and Opportunities." Matt discussed challenges facing the United States in meeting its energy needs and energy policy goals. He spoke to US energy demand in the context of a growing global economy, as well as the barriers and constraints in all energy sectors, including the challenges in building new infrastructure. His presentation also covered the benefits of the Keystone XL pipeline and Canadian oil sands development to North American energy security. Additionally, Matt discussed issues related to the new growth, opportunities and challenges relating to fossil energy development and what was occurring in Washington, DC. At the Chamber event, Matt was interviewed by Bismarck-based television station KFYR-TV (NBC).
