
Matt Letourneau is director of communications and media at the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy. In this role, he conducts outreach to print and electronic media, coordinates external communications, and serves as a spokesman for the Institute in the press. Letourneau previously served as Republican Communications Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. In that capacity, he helped develop the Republican response to the spike in gasoline prices during the summer of 2008, led GOP communications efforts to pass the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 and worked on climate change legislation.
Before joining the Committee, Letourneau spent 4 years as Deputy Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), where he worked on a variety of state and federal issues and was responsible for radio and new media outreach for the Senator.
Earlier in his career, Letourneau served as an aide to U.S. Senator Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) and as an intern in the White House Senior Advisor’s Office. He also worked for the Massachusetts Port Authority in the media relations office of Boston-Logan International Airport.
Letourneau graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and is originally from Massachusetts. He currently resides in Ashburn, VA, with his wife, son and daughter..
