U.S. Chamber’s Keystone XL Pipeline Lost Opportunity Tour Continues in South Dakota Today

WASHINGTON, D.C.— After traveling through Montana yesterday, the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy’s Keystone XL Pipeline Lost Opportunity Tour will continue in South Dakota today.

Yesterday, Energy Institute officials made four stops in Montana to meeting with economic development and civic leaders.  They learned how the City of Glasgow, Montana has had to delay plans to build a new elementary school which would be funded in part by new revenue from the Keystone XL pipeline because of the Obama Administration’s six year delay.

The tour will pick up this morning with a brief stop in North Dakota to visit a pipeline storage yard, and then continue with the first of two days in South Dakota.

Additional details about today’s tour stops are below:

Tuesday,  September 16 Stop 1:  Gascoyne, North Dakota, approximately 7:00 AM MT Day two of the tour will begin at a pipeline storage facility, where over 220 miles of pipeline for Keystone XL is being stored waiting for a permit.

Stop 2: Buffalo, South Dakota, approximately 9:00 AM MT The tour will be visiting the DooWag Ranch, where owners Jim Doolittle and Karen Wagner will be using reclaimed land from Keystone XL to continue their operations after the pipeline is built.  Stop 3: Rapid City, South Dakota, approximately 1:00 PM MT The Energy Institute will be hosting a lunch at Firehouse Brewing Company with local businesses that support Keystone XL.  They’ll discuss how KXL will help diversify Rapid City area’s economy.
