U.S. Chamber’s Keystone XL Pipeline Lost Opportunity Tour Kicks Off Today in Montana

WASHINGTON, D.C.— This morning, the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy is launching its Keystone XL Pipeline Lost Opportunity Tour at the starting point of the pipeline route in the United States—the U.S. – Canada border crossing in Morgan, Montana.

The Energy Institute will make four stops in Montana today, including visits with economic development leaders and a small business eagerly awaiting construction of the pipeline. Additional details about today’s tour stops are below:

Monday, September 15

Stop 1: Morgan, Montana (Canada border crossing), approximately 8:00 AM MT The Energy Institute will officially kickoff the Tour and view the starting point for the pipeline in the U.S.

Stop 2: Glasgow, Montana, approximately 11:00 AM MT Our team will be meeting with the Two Rivers Economic Development Group and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce to hear about the opportunities that Keystone XL will bring to the area.

Stop 3: Glendive, Montana, approximately 4:30 PM MT The Energy Institute team will be visiting the Glendive location of Hedahls Auto Plus, a rapidly growing chain of auto supply stores that has seen tremendous growth as a result of Bakken energy development. If Keystone XL is built, this location could see even more growth.

Stop 4: Baker, Montana, approximately 7:00 PM MT Baker is near the planned Bakken Marketlink project, which will allow American oil from the Bakken region to be transported by the Keystone XL pipeline. To discuss the economic impact of this aspect of the Keystone XL project, we’ll be meeting with local elected officials and the Southwest Montana Area Revitalization Team.
