WASHINGTON, D.C.—Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy, issued the following statement today regarding Senate passage of S. 1, the “Keystone XL Pipeline Act”: “The Senate’s passage of legislation approving the Keystone XL pipeline should be the latest signal to President Obama that his administration’s delays and political interference must end. Very few issues have brought together this kind of bipartisan majority in the House and Senate. Congress and the American people have clearly spoken. Today’s vote should send a very strong message to the president that the time to move forward with this project is now.”

The mission of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy is to unify policymakers, regulators, business leaders, and the American public behind a common sense energy strategy to help keep America secure, prosperous, and clean.
