U.S. Chamber Urges No More Delays on Keystone XL Pipeline

Press Release
January 9, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In response to a decision by the Nebraska Supreme Court that left intact Nebraska’s permit for the Keystone XL pipeline, Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy, today issued the following statement:

“The Nebraska Supreme Court’s decision removes the last excuse that the Obama administration has been using to justify the unconscionable delays in the permitting process for the Keystone XL pipeline. Now that the pipeline route in Nebraska has been settled, it is time for President Obama to approve the pipeline—no more excuses, no more delays. A strong, bipartisan majority of Americans expect nothing less. Delaying the decision further will only expose this administration to valid accusations of political posturing.”

The mission of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy is to unify policymakers, regulators, business leaders, and the American public behind a common sense energy strategy to help keep America secure, prosperous, and clean.
